School holidays are always a great time to escape from the routine and get out of the eastern suburbs of Sydney and explore the real Sydney. The eastern suburbs are so mono- cultured, so off to Cabramatta we went on a mission to eat pho, rice paper rolls and and sugar cane prawns. We had a wonderful day exploring the Vietnamese supermarkets and tasting exotic tropical fruit and wondering at the all the live seafood dressed in ice on the street. Honey sesame doughnuts, freshly pressed sugar cane juice, yum........hello kitty rubbers, jelly cups and lots of extremely cheap shopping (seafood & veggies galore) We had a day packed full of the tastes, sights and sounds of asia and its only 45mins down the M5.
